Vietnamese officials become more corrupt after studying Ho Chi Minh’s ethics

Nguyen Van Tam is attacking the gold shop owner

The story of the suspect who robbed a gold store in Tra Vinh province, Nguyen Van Tam, used to be head of the Department of Operations and Organization of Civil Judgment Enforcement, under the Department of Civil Judgment Enforcement of Tra Vinh province, is a very unusual matter of the Vietnamese state apparatus.

The news of Tuoi Tre newspaper on October 7, with the title “Gold store robber used to be head of Tra Vinh Province’s Enforcement Department,” said:

“… on October 7, a source from Tra Vinh Provincial Police said they were investigating a robbery that occurred at Toan Huynh Chau gold store, Le Loi street, Tra Vinh city. According to sources, suspect Nguyen Van Tam used to be head of the Department of Operations and Organization of Civil Judgment Enforcement, under the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department of Tra Vinh province, and resigned on June 1, 2023.”

It is known that Nguyen Van Tam was in a lot of debt so he robbed the gold shop mentioned above, but failed and was arrested.

Public opinion on social networks evaluates that people in difficulties may act strangely but the fact that a former official in the provincial justice sector in Tra Vinh carried out robbery is a rare story.

In fact, the situation is that officials of the police, procuracy, and courts in Vietnam openly rob and rob relatives of suspects and defendants in state agencies is all too common. Therefore, officials in the judicial apparatus have never seen anyone poor, on the contrary, they are even very rich.

Based on the philosophy of gangster Nam Cam when talking about the judiciary in Vietnam, that “What cannot be bought with money, can be bought with a lot of money,” the above situation can be clearly seen.

But, more importantly, public opinion sees that the perpetrator, Nguyen Van Tam, used to be the head of the Department of Civil Judgment Enforcement of Tra Vinh province, and certainly participated in many study sessions and followed late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.

From March 2003 until now, in Vietnam, the Party and government have continuously required the entire Party and people to learn the moral ideology of Mr. Ho Chi Minh. Most recently, in February 2023, the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc issued Plan No. 99, directing continued implementation and promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style. This is considered a task:

It is important and regular for each Party organization, each cadre… to prevent the deterioration of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of self-evolution and self-transformation.”

But as a result of the campaigns, public opinion said that the more officials learn, the more corrupt they become; the more they learn, the more corrupt leaders become exposed.

From Saigon, a retired leader of the Propaganda branch, speaking to Thoibao.de on condition of anonymity, said:

“… the more we promote learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s example in state agencies, the more officials will be arrested and prosecuted for corruption, and the more corruption there will be. Official documents issued by agencies such as the procuracy, investigation agency, police, and courts all demonstrate the comprehensive deterioration, with very terrible inconceivable cases.”

According to Thanh Tra online newspaper, in just the first six months of 2023, there were 459 new corruption cases. Prosecutors have been prosecuted for positions in the judicial sector, an increase of nearly 110% over the same period last year. The Ministry of Public Security recently announced that since the beginning of the year, the Inspection Committees at all levels have disciplined more than 100 Party organizations and more than 3,600 party members; and proposed review and administrative handling of 232 collectives and 1,146 individuals.

Obviously, activities of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s example only consume the state budget. Because the result of this activity is always: The more officials learn, the more corrupt they become; the more officials learn, the more they steal and corrupt state property and money. Yet the Communist Party of Vietnam takes studying Ho Chi Minh’s ethics as a standard, which is truly “no benefit but only harm.”

Therefore, organizing to study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and ethics is completely unfavorable to the building and development of the country. On the contrary, it is also a path that produces dictatorial leaders who can destroy an entire country and nation.
