Mr. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was sent to Vietnam to attend the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong of the Communist Party of Vietnam as a special envoy of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
Yesterday afternoon, July 25, after took part in the funeral of the late Vietnamese communist leader, Wang Huning met with State President To Lam and that evening met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
It is known that Xi Jinping sent Wang Huning to Vietnam not only to attend the funeral, but also seemed to have a more important task, which was to arrange personnel for the Communist Party of Vietnam, who would succeed Trong as General Secretary.
